Hey guys and girls
Thought I would write my views on this Music Documentary that I watched yesterday, now I know I’m a little late to the party as this Documentary came out in October last year in Cinema’s and DVD as well.
This is what the Blurb is for the Documentary:
“A revealing look at the meteoric rise of seminal ’90s rock band Oasis, weaving never-before-seen concert footage with candid interviews and a firsthand account of the backstage sibling rivalry that threatened to destroy the band.”
Now I’ve been a fan of Oasis since I was about 10 and the more and more I listen to them the more and more I can appreciate the song writing for the time it was released as well as for a band from Manchester who had nothing to start with and worked their way to the top and has become one of Britain’s top bands along with The Beatles, Queen and Led Zepplin.
Okay so the documentary covers basically how Oasis started where the bands members came from and how they got their record deal and shows what happened to them during the first two albums being covered and being played on tour, plus you find out more about the band like footage that has never been seen before and interviews that you thought never existed, plus there are some funny stories to what happens to the band on tour.
One of the stories is how they play their first gig in America which is the Whiskey Go Go and they bought some drugs before playing thinking it was cocaine however it was Crystal Meth which messed with their heads making them unable to perform very well on stage but this also was the turning point of the band and where they started to go down hill.
With this documentary, It wasn’t too long winded and got straight to the point plus you saw a different side to the band in this film besides what the media always wrote about them which was giving them the bad press (Which at one point Liam was loving in his stint with Oasis)
But I would have to give it up to Noel for being A very good song writer the way he writes song is amazing and how he can talk about drugs, football, rock and roll lifestyle and not publicise it as much as other bands/singers do, but then again Noel has always been an influence to my music style since listening to What’s the Story (Morning Glory) and it has to be a great album to be listed 5th Place in UK’s Top 60 biggest selling albums (Link at Bottom) Just a shame that Definalty Maybe didn’t get the hype What’s the Story got.
Anyway, with that being said I’m going to give this 4/5 stars, great documentary straight to the point, showed how they made their two best selling albums as well as the stories behind the songs and shows plus it made me appreciate the band a whole lot more.
Well done boys!
Thanks for reading people much appreciated plus let me know what you think or what you want me to write about next.
Until next time!!
